I started losing my hair in my mid 20s. I noticed that I was losing hair first after coming out of the shower and seeing my wet hair in the mirror making it look very thin. Although it was difficult for others to notice it due to the length i kept it at, I was always very conscious about it. As my hair loss continued, I started wearing hats more often to cover it up, which made things very difficult for me as I knew I was trying to "cover up" something.

My hair line is completely full now, I've been able to dye it all sorts of different colors without having to worry about it falling out. The best thing about my hair is that I can now run my hands through my own hair without the fear of it falling out.

Hair loss has been a very emotional thing for me. Neither of my parents lost their hair and all of my siblings were fine - I really didn't understand why I was losing mine. The GP advised me it could be due to a thyroid problem or stress, however when I came to Harley Street Healthcare they ran a few tests and confirmed that my thyroid was fine as well as everything else in my blood tests. I decided to take the plunge on a hair transplant to get back the hair I had lost.
The procedure itself lasted 6 hours, I was given lunch by the friendly team and was able to have as many breaks as I needed throughout the day. The doctor gave me a strong dose of anesthetic as I was particularly concerned about pain, the anesthesia really helped and I felt very little discomfort throughout. To my surprise it actually turned out to be quite a pleasant experience.
Following the procedure I took a two week holiday to return to work thereafter. My work colleagues didn't notice a thing as I had cut my hair very short. In the first month a lot of the hair fell out - this didn't worry me as I was told about this during my consultation before the procedure.

As an international business owner a lot of my time is consumed flying to different parts of the world. I never thought about getting a hair transplant until I did a google search which landed me on Harley St Healthcare's website. I called the clinic during a business trip to the UK and was told that I could have the consultation on the same day as my phone call. At my consultation I was informed that I could get my hair transplant done the next week. This was all very exciting and I rescheduled my trip back to China for another week, so I could get my hair transplant and return home with a full head of hair to surprise my family.

On my return home, the scabs had fallen off and my new hair started to grow.I had cut all of my hair fairly short following the procedure and when I arrived home my wife and children had all thought my hair started to grow back. After a few months my results looked amazing and I looked so much younger with thick black hair - it's amazing how just having hair can take years off your age.
